As we neared our final destination, we saw the mountains rising above us. SNOW! Look closely and you can see some red cable cars in this shot.

One of many "Swiss Chalets" that dot the landscape. I was told that the government subsidizes the use of geraniums, and each dweller must care for them to maintain appearances.

This is Grindelwald, a small town where homes pop up all up the moutainside.

And this is the train we used. It was a gear-tooth train, that is designed to never fail. Swiss Cows in the background, complete with the requisite bells.

As we gain altitude, the beauty of snow vs grass become more apparent every minute.

It was cold up here. This is the glacier, a frozen form that reaches as far as the eye can see.

I believe this is the south side of Mt Eiger, on the left side of the glacier.

This is Mt Eiger, the north face.

We really are standing in front of the view, even if it does look fake.

Another picture perfect shot that could be postcard worthy.

You could try out skiing, hike on a snowy trail, or ride a dog-sled. Here you see Phillip trying out snowboarding. In the foreground you might notice the small "hugel" (hill) for a dash of excitement.

This is my Polar Bear look. With all that insulation, is it any wonder I'm not cold! I'm such a Schweitzer!!

My first time to ever try skiing, and it was great! I fell down only once during 45 mins, and really can't wait to try it again one day. Don't you just love my form? Watching the Winter Olympics really paid off!!

Phillip felt that snowboarding must be similar to skateboarding.

It turns out that it isn't. You have to steer more with your shoulders than with your legs or hips.

He did have a good time, but after falling a number of times, his hands were frozen. But he liked it anyway.
